How the University at Buffalo’s Emerging Entrepreneur Accelerator Program Helped Business Owner Kenyana David Fine-Tune Her Marketing Strategy

My name is Kenyana David. I am the founder of 81Eighteen, LLC, a boutique marketing firm specializing in email marketing. I teach female entrepreneurs email marketing through a membership/subscription-based e-school called Fe-Mail Marketing for Entrepreneurs (FEMME) Academy. Students take classes and courses on email marketing through the framework for the academy. I started the firm in 2018 and then launched the academy in 2021.

Keyanna’s Vision

I want to expand the FEMME Academy with additional learning programs.

The Program

I chose to participate in the M&T Bank Minority Women and Emerging Entrepreneurs Accelerator Program offered by UB’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. My biggest takeaways from the program were the conversations I had with my mentor. She introduced me to Donald Miller and the StoryBrand framework. We spent several weeks working on my business’ marketing strategy and clarifying its message. I feel that the StoryBrand framework will help me communicate my offers which will increase my business revenues and help my business succeed.

Final Thoughts

The mentor was helpful. It was very helpful to discuss the program’s leadership coaching, expert panels, and networking activities with a mentor and trusted advisor.
