How the “She Means Business” Program Helped Channel Sabado Increase Her Income

My name is Channel Sabado. I own Glowspa, a full-service black-owned luxury spa located in the heart of Rochester NY. We have been open and operating for two years. We provide facials, waxing, massages, and more. Our services can be booked on our website at GlowSpaRoc.com. Spas are lacking in knowledge of pigmented skin and the ability to treat it. People of color are coming into most salons with skincare questions and concerns and walking out disappointed. At GlowSpa, we treat all skin!

Channel’s Vision

My vision is to eventually open a hotel with an expanded full-service spa.

The Program

I participated in the She Means Business 2022 program offered by the Enterprise Center at Pathstone. It’s an intensive program designed to take women entrepreneurs through the steps and processes needed to succeed in business, going from ideation to launch, from recession to expansion, and job creation. It’s designed to help existing women entrepreneurs solidify their foundation and assist them in reaching the next level. It taught me how to gauge my target customer, and how to properly calculate my daily income. Plus, I came in second in the program’s pitch competition and won $3,000!

Final Thoughts

I feel a lot more informed! I now know how to properly calculate my income so I’m fully aware of how much money I should be bringing in to keep things afloat. I’m so grateful for programs like this that help educate and encourage small businesses like mine.
